Privacy policy

This page explains, in plain language, how Maplan (the “Service”) handles information about you and your organisation. It is not legal advice. You should review and adapt this content with your own legal counsel before relying on it.

1. Information we collect

Maplan is designed as a B2B product for teams. Most of the information we process is business information, such as work email addresses and product feedback, rather than consumer data.

  • • Account information (for example: name, work email, organisation name).
  • • Workspace configuration (for example: status names, branding, custom domains).
  • • Product feedback and ideas shared by you and your users.
  • • Basic usage information used to keep the service reliable and improve it over time.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide and improve the Service, secure accounts, and communicate with you about product updates that are relevant to your use of Maplan.

  • • Operating and securing your Maplan account and workspace.
  • • Providing support and answering questions.
  • • Analysing aggregate usage patterns to improve the product.
  • • Sending operational and product emails (you can adjust marketing preferences later).

3. Data location and hosting

Maplan is being developed with Canadian hosting in mind. The goal is to keep primary application data in Canadian data centres, which can help Canadian customers align with internal data residency expectations.

The exact hosting providers and regions you use should be documented here once finalised.

4. Sharing information

We do not sell your data. Limited sharing can occur with carefully selected sub‑processors who help us deliver the Service (for example: infrastructure providers, email delivery, or analytics).

You should maintain a separate list of sub‑processors and their locations once your infrastructure choices are final.

5. Your choices

  • • You can request to update or correct account information.
  • • You can request deletion of your workspace, subject to any legal retention requirements.
  • • You can contact us about data access requests, including those under GDPR or PIPEDA.

6. Contact

Contact details for the entity behind Maplan (including registered business name and address) should be added here. This is where customers and regulators can reach you about privacy or data protection questions.
